The National Convention of Unincorporated Faith-Based Organizations (NCUSO) is an established 508(c)(1)(A) Convention. We exist to protect the sacred work of ministers, temples, and organizations committed to spiritual freedom and community service.

Autonomy Through Affiliation

Most spiritual organizations are forced to seek government approval (501(c)(3)) at the expense of their religious liberty. NCUSO provides a recognized, lawful alternative. We are an interdependent convention where every member organization operates with full religious freedom and complete doctrinal autonomy, supported by the collective strength of our network.

Our mission is two-fold

  • To provide definitive legal structure for organizations that practice indigenous modalities, plant-based sacraments, and ancient spiritual trusts.

  • To unite leaders under a common banner of lawful authority, ensuring their right to ordain ministers, govern their own affairs, and serve their community without undue regulation.

Key Pillars of Our Authority

  • NCUSO is a 508(c)(1)(A) Organization: Like all Churches, Conventions, and Associations of Churches, we are automatically recognized as a tax-exempt entity and are exempt from the requirement to file Form 990 annually.

  • Source of Lawful Authority: As a Convention, NCUSO holds the jurisdictional right to establish and recognize subsidiary spiritual organizations (your ministry/temple) and grant the authority to ordain ministers and administer sacraments.

  • Protection for Special Practices: We specifically uphold the freedom of organizations that utilize spiritual trusts and plant-based sacraments, providing a protective legal framework for these sacred modalities.

  • Interdependence, Not Isolation: While your organization operates autonomously, you are part of a larger, established network that provides continuous legal resources, administrative support, and professional training.
